I’m Unna, the founder of UNNA Movement.

“Early on in my career I realised that we can come up with a solution for the great majority of physical challenges. But not until the mind is willing, will the body be allowed to thrive.

It changed my own health & career trajectory.

…questions like

‘How am I getting in my own way?’

‘How do I want to show up in the world?’

‘What is my body telling me?’ can be answered & leveraged.

People really are way more powerful than we allow ourselves to be in our own lives & bodies.”

I work with both bodies and the minds that can sometimes sabotage them. True health success isn’t just about exercise; it’s about identifying what truly matters and committing to your health even when things aren’t perfect. Dismantling the motivation myth and digging into self awareness as a health tool.

My journey is filled with valuable learnings and unlearning. Academically, I hold an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and a Master’s in Rehabilitation, which provided a solid foundation in exercise physiology. These degrees also included elements of human behaviour and health psychology—the good stuff!

During my university years, I immersed myself in the industry, working as a porter and physiotherapy assistant at a leading rehabilitation hospital. Once qualified, I combined clinical practice at a major Melbourne rehabilitation centre with roles as a clinical researcher and trainer across various hospital departments. Noticing a gap in the transition from hospital discharge to community reintegration, I started my own rehabilitation and clinical pilates practice.

Now, with over 20 years of experience, I’ve transitioned from selling one business to founding another: Unna Movement. Here, I follow my passion for nurturing energy and fostering a sustainable relationship with health that enhances both personal and professional growth.

I specialise in a top-down and bottom-up approach to leadership, helping individuals understand the physiology of their story to optimise their wellbeing and performance. At Unna Movement, we focus on creating a balanced, holistic approach to health that works for life.

"But why?"

Some years ago, responding to the "but why" tiny voice created a career change aha moment for Unna:

Why am I responding to questions about exercise physiology in males and females with the same answers?

Why did this appear on some ones left and not right?

What happens when we establish someone’s sense of their own why, before we hand them a dumbbell?

This realisation has led Unna to charge herself to organise, share and contextualise research into understandable & usable tools, helping people understand their strengths and story for optimal physiology and behaviour to match. An ease in body and mind.

What are we capable of when we heal and get out of our own way? We are certainly capable of much more when we approach with an open heart.
